EDUCATION

AMCA conducts seminars and workshops throughout the year with the goal of increasing the number of minority-owned firms participating in the construction marketplace. These courses train the minority contractor to better compete and perform in the public and private sectors. Seminars and workshops are provided at substantially reduced registration fee while maintaining a high level of quality and competence. Courses are tailored in both content and instructors, to address issues of concern to the minority construction firm. In many cases, a certificate of completion from an AMCA course will open the doors to previously inaccessible markets by establishing eligibility to bid in certain fields.

Educational opportunities include:
Worker’sCompensation

The AMCA actively monitors the government affairs of agencies and administrations mandated with providing opportunities to assist in the healthy growth and/or expansion of Minority Women owned Business Enterprises. We proactively work with policymakers, legislators, majority associations, major corporations and others on behalf of the concerns of our members. We frequently participate in the State Legislature, with County Supervisors and City Councils to testify, actively promote, and educate lawmakers on the impact of proposed legislation on minority contractors.

MAJOR CORPORATE AMCA PARTNER PROGRAM

The Major Corporate AMCA Partner Program is a successful and unique program that builds long-lasting relationships with major corporations, that are committed to working together with the AMCA to expand construction opportunities for our members. This is achieved through the fostering of cooperative working relationships such as joint ventures and mentor-protégé programs. We are building bridges between minority and majority construction firms through a well-developed, comprehensive database of qualified minority contractors.
